Meet Our Staff
Tonya Futrell, CPA joined Wells, Coleman & Company in August 2008. She has over 6 years of experience in accounting with a focus on audit and compliance work. Ms. Futrell earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Longwood University. She is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Tammy L. Herlinger, CPA rejoined Wells, Coleman & Company in January 2008. She has several years of experience in public accounting with an emphasis in corporate taxation and auditing of not-for-profit organizations and employee benefit plans. Ms. Herlinger earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Longwood University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Diana L. Jackson began working with Wells, Coleman & Company in April 2005 as a Client Services Specialist. She has more than 10 years of experience in small business operations and accounting issues with a speciality in payroll.
Nicholas A. Kinsler, CPAjoined Wells, Coleman & Company inMay 2008. He is a graduate of Longwood University, where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Finance. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants (VSCPA)and the Richmond Chapter – VSCPA. He has been a QuickBooks Pro Advisor since 2008 focusing on small business accounting system design, installation and training.
Jason N. Levister joined Wells, Coleman & Company in January 2011. He joins the firm with over three years of experience in public accounting working with Fortune 500 companies, small to mid-size not for profit organizations, and privately held businesses providing tax, audit and other attest services. Mr. Levister earned his Bachelor of Science degree from The University of Virginia at Wise with a double major in Accounting and Business Administration. He is a Junior Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, The Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and is currently a CPA candidate.
Carol B. Markow, CPA joined Wells, Coleman & Company in December 2008 as a Senior Accountant specializing in taxation. She has over 30 years of experience in preparation of tax returns for individuals and corporations, as well as payroll, personal property returns and business licenses. Ms. Markow received her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Business. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Marylee G. McGregor, CPA joined Wells, Coleman & Company in October 2004 as a Senior Accountant concentrating in the areas of estate, gift, and trust and taxation and administration. She studied accounting at the College of William and Mary and began working in public accounting in 1986. She also received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Allegheny College and a Master of Arts from the College of William and Mary. Ms. McGregor is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants where she chaired the Public Service Committee and was a member of the State and Local Tax Committee.
Terry B. Newberry, CPA began working with Wells, Coleman & Company in January 2003. She has been involved in financial statement, internal control and employee benefit plan audits, as well as reviews and compilations. Additionally, she has experience with the preparation of income tax returns and financial statement preparation and analysis. Ms. Newberry earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University. She is a member of the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Jean L. Oakey, CPA is Wells, Coleman & Company’s Director of Not-for-Profit Services. With over 24 years experience, she provides auditing, management advisory and tax compliance services for public charities and private foundations. She also focuses on the firm’s eldercare practice and tax compliance services for trusts. She received a Bachelor of Arts from Mount Holyoke College and a Post-baccalaureate Certificate in Accounting from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Lance D. Smith joined Wells, Coleman & Company as Network Administrator in April 2006, bringing with him more than seven years of IT experience. In addition to serving the IT needs of Wells, Coleman & Company, Mr. Smith provides technical consultation services to the firm’s clientele. Prior to joining Wells, Coleman & Company, Mr. Smith held the position of LAN Administrator at a prominent Fortune 100 transportation company. Mr. Smith earned his Bachelor degree from the College of William and Mary and holds CompTIA Network+ and A+ professional certifications.
Kristin L. White, CPA has been with Wells, Coleman & Company since June 2003. She has experience in many areas of accounting and taxation, including financial statement reporting and analysis, audit services and income tax planning and preparation. Areas in which she hasexperience include not-for-profit organizations, employee benefit plans and homeowners associations. Ms. White received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Radford University and her Master of Accounting from the College of William and Mary.
